Parspro Juliet — live betting with tournaments
“O fortune, fortune! All men call thee fickle”
Juliet, Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare (1564-1616)
Long viewed by the industry as a potentially lucrative source of revenue, the concept of live betting with tournaments has now become a reality, following the introduction of Juliet, a groundbreaking new stand-alone solution from Parspro which enables on-line bookmakers to offer, for the first time ever, live betting with tournaments.
Built on the Parspro Miranda sports betting platform, Juliet combines the key industry trends of live betting and multi-player gaming by supporting both, to produce a totally unique solution specifically designed to provide operators with a fresh revenue stream at a time of increased competition and customer demand for attractive new product offerings
Up until now, conventional live on-line betting has enabled operators to offer bets on individual sporting events. During a football match, for instance, bets like next goal, next corner, free kicks, yellow/red cards and other game events can be opened and closed in real time, and users can place their bets as they are watching the game on TV.
By extending this concept into live betting with tournaments, however, Juliet enables operators not only to run live match bets, but also allows them to create groups of multiple matches and events on which multiple players can bet simultaneously.
Tournaments can be created from any combination and type of sporting events, thereby enabling the operator to provide clients with a virtually limitless range of novel and attractive offerings.
Simple to implement, reliable and secure, Juliet harnesses the concept of a live betting tournament network, to allow multiple players from different customers to participate in the same tournament, thereby greatly increasing rake size, prizes and the number of players available to play.
At the same time, operator risk is significantly reduced, as winnings derive from the pool created from the players involved.
Tournament properties are set by the bookmaker before it is published, and multiple types of tournaments can be available for the same sporting event. These may include:
- Single buy-in
- Re-buy
- Fixed number of players
- Fixed prizes
- Pool-based prizes
Juliet comes with an innovative new player application based on current industry standards, as well as a series of back-office applications designed to give bookmakers complete control over every aspect of the system.
Access is provided through a series of user-friendly interfaces based on colourful and readily understood graphics, which provide bookmakers and clients alike with a wealth of real-time information designed to provide an optimum gaming experience, all of which is changed and updated fully automatically.
Built on Macromedia Flash MX and therefore accessible to any user, the Juliet LiveBetting Client offers a range of innovative features not possible in a conventional HTML-based interface.
To provide optimum speed and stability, processing power is derived from the client PC and not the server, and the LiveBetting client may be integrated into a web site or run as a standalone application.
For added performance and security, the server element of the solution runs independently of the web site server, connecting to it and exchanging information solely on a need-only basis, while all system components use a tuple (customer, player, and password) to identify messages and data objects.
A purpose-built Management Client provides operators with full control of running bets, enabling them to start and stop bets, change odds, and pay out to winners, all in real time. And just like the user client, all data appears in real time, providing the operator with a complete overview of the performance of each bet in order to help optimise profit on outstanding bets.
